  • One-on-one tutoring to strengthen areas of reading and spelling. Learners come three times per week for an hour. After 40 hours of support, a retest of skill growth at our center will help you determine if additional support is needed or if optimal levels of reading and spelling have been reached.
  • personalized planning and progress monitoring
  • research-based, highly-structured Lindamood-Bell programs, phonological awareness programs(Heggerty & PAST), All About Spelling, connected/decodable text, Great Leaps

Two levels of testing are available:
  1. Reading skills assessment: this level of testing is appropriate when seeking support and intervention to strengthen reading and spelling. This testing identifies which programming will be most beneficial, it gathers the needed data to create a personalized learning plan, and is used for progress monitoring. Cost: $200. Time: 1-1.5 hours.
  2. Full Educational Testing: this level of testing is appropriate for identifying learning differences, such as dyslexia, that may be affecting academics. A full written report and in-person meeting will give you the information you need to seek appropriate supports and accommodations inside and outside of school or the workplace. Cost: $650. IDA Dyslexia Handbook: What Every Family Should Know

Do we need a referral or diagnosis to use your program?

No referral or diagnosis is needed to receive help at our center. Our initial reading skills evaluation will give us the data we need to determine if our programming will be a good match for the student. This data is also used to create a personal learning plan to promote quick skill gains and to monitor progress.

Do you test for dyslexia?

Short answer: YES!

We have two levels of testing.

1)A reading skills assessment; which identifies weak areas of foundational skills. We use this data to determine if our programs are a good match for the individual and to create a personal learning plan to strengthen reading and spelling skills. This assessment takes about one hour to complete.

2)We will offer comprehensive educational testing to identify if dyslexia is at the core of reading struggles. This testing takes 3 to 3.5 hours to complete

What ages do you work with?

Our program best supports learners who are mid-first grade or older. The Lindamood Bell programs that we use have excellent research showing positive results from school-age to adult learners.

How long do people remain in the program?

Every learner has a different profile with a variety of skills that need strengthening so progress is different for each individual. On average, most learners spend 80-100 hours in our intensive reading program to develop processing skills at or near grade level. Other underlying differences can affect progress as well such as ADHD, processing speed issues, weak working memory, illness/frequent absences, etc.

What days/hours are you open?

We are open year round.

During the school year we are open 8am to 7:30pm Monday through Thursday.

During the summer we are open 8am to 6pm Monday through Thursday.

How many times a week do students come to your center?

For best results, students must come three times per week for an hour. Our personalized programming will provide just the right elements to strengthen foundational skills for strong reading and spelling to develop.

Our youngest 2 kids just completed a 40 session program and I absolutely cannot say enough about how incredible Pathways is. Both are much more confident readers and we are seeing marked growth at school.
It has truly been a blessing for my son to be part of this program, which has taught him reading techniques that work for him.  The best part is he now has confidence in his reading ability, which he never has had before.
Pathways has been a blessing for our family especially our daughter. Her confidence level has changed so much in the last few months and we feel it’s because of Pathways.  She now enjoys going to school and loves to read.  For the first time, we feel she is actually reading to learn instead of learning to read.  We appreciate all that Pathways has done and look forward to what the future hold for our daughter through Pathways and beyond.

We got our sons report card this week and got an A- in spelling!!!!!!!!! I think this is his best grade ever in spelling.    We are SO proud of him, and we just know Pathways has had a huge influence on this.  You guys are making a huge difference in our lives.

I am so happy with this program. I have noticed so much growth in his reading. I am absolutely amazed with his results. It has always been so hard for me to watch him struggle with reading and it is such a relief to know that it is getting easier for him. Thank you for everything.  It is a blessing to our family.  We are thankful for you all at Pathways.  Be encouraged; you all are making a great difference!

I am absolutely amazed at our son’s progress. He has improved so much since starting Pathways. I never thought I would see the day that he would sit down, without complaining, and read an entire book with little help. We are beyond grateful for this program and all the effort that you have put into him. Thank you.
